Downtime

The party spent time preparing for the expedition, redistributing silver daggers and acquiring some additional supplies. Nick McNutly took out a loan to cover his monthly upkeep, while the party coordinated strategy for their upcoming missions. Plans included scouting a nearby silver weapons manufacturing facility and using downtime to gather information, while also seeking out smaller threats such as goblins to gain experience and test their abilities.

Session Report

The adventuring began with the party setting out to hunt known were-rats in local sewers. They traveled cautiously, aware of potential ambushes and environmental hazards. Early in the tunnels, the party was attacked by giant leeches. Joe Hendry, leading the charge, was the first to be bitten and knocked unconscious. Steel-Will, attempting to flee while illuminating the area with a torch, helped guide the party’s retreat. The encounter was chaotic and tense, but the party eventually survived.

Afterward, the group recovered at the Chicken Jockey Inn for a week. During this time, they redistributed silver daggers to ensure each member was properly armed. They also discussed leads regarding a nearby silver weapons manufacturing facility, hoping to gain a tactical advantage in their hunt for lycanthropes.

Once recovered, the party turned their attention to goblins reported in the nearby tunnels. They found the entrance blocked and had to clear it, taking two union breaks’ worth of labor. Once inside, they were immediately ambushed by a small goblin scouting party of seven. The fight was quick but brutal, with all goblins slain. Strong-Stack, curious about the horn of one slain goblin, attempted to use it to intimidate further enemies, inadvertently alerting a nearby force.

Soon after, the party found themselves surrounded by thirteen goblins holding position and observing them carefully. Fearing reinforcements, the party charged, engaging in intense combat. All thirteen goblins were slain, but this action triggered reinforcements: a horde of 40 or more goblins surrounded them, creating a dire situation.

In a daring and unusual move, Strong-Stack attempted negotiation by wagering that Joe Hendry could defeat a worg in hand-to-hand combat. The goblin chieftain, amused and humored, agreed. Joe Hendry won initiative and the ensuing duel, dealing a significant blow to the goblin chief’s pride. Strong Stack ordered his archers to fire at the goblin chieftain while he was focused on the worg. He was killed. Despite this, the goblins overpowered the party and captured them. Strong-Stack was separated and likely tortured to death, while Joe Hendry and Willy Bonka were taken as slaves.

Steel-Will and Gronad performed admirably in combat, while Willy Bonka’s clerical feats went largely unrecorded, though his contributions were not insignificant.
