Session Report

September 6th

The players began their adventure in a small tavern called The Dancing Toad, located in the Krozpont suburb known as Backwash. This area is infamous for being a refuge for those unable to secure residence within Krozpont itself, populated by merchants and artisans who operate outside the city's strict regulations and gate tariffs. Backwash, a rough commercial hub, is a melting pot of society’s outcasts, where gang activity is common, drugs are openly abused, and the law rarely shows its face.

Bear Gryllz and Kalagneus are working together as a group of teamsters, spending their evening recruiting strong laborers to help transport shipments of alcohol to taverns on the outer roads. They set their sights on a large, formidable half-orc named Graardor as a potential hire.

Before the tavern, Kalagneus uses his illusionist abilities to appear as one of the renowned Shortseneggers of Krozpont. What follows is a primal display of power—a brawl between Kalagneus and Graardor in the tavern’s parking lot. However, Kal’s illusion fades mid-fight, revealing him to be of average strength. Graardor ultimately wins by submission but gains respect for Kal’s effort. As a condition of victory, Graardor asks for Kal and Bear’s help in hunting down evildoers in Backwash to prove his worth to society by battling orcs and other foes.

The newly formed group decides to target the infamous Booga Brothers, a gang of “musicians” with rumored criminal connections. The group learns that the Booga Brothers recently underwent a leadership change, now led by a mysterious figure known as Mr. Gibbs, who hails from the rundown town of Garyindiana.

Mr. Gibbs

September 7th

In the morning, the group splits up to pursue individual goals. Joe heads to the Salty Spittoon to gather information on the Booga Brothers, Bear goes hunting to gather rations for the group, and Graardor seeks out fight groups to hone his skills.

That afternoon, they reconvene at The Dancing Toad, where Graardor shares his ambition to make it to the main fighting roster and build a following. He initiates a bar fight, suplexing the nearest patron to kick-start his grassroots campaign.

Meanwhile, Bear and Kal focus on gathering information about Mr. Gibbs and the Booga Brothers. After chatting with locals, they learn that the Booga Brothers’ fans hold a strong disdain for city officials and avoid them at all costs, even refusing to call upon them for essential services like reapplying magical fire alarms in buildings.

The group decides to explore areas of Backwash with a high Booga presence. After a long day of investigation, they identify a trap house linked to the Booga Brothers. They bluff their way inside, posing as city officials sent to fix the “chirping” noise from the building's depleted wards. Though granted access, they are forbidden from entering the basement.

The party discreetly searches the building, uncovering evidence of horse theft, smuggling, extortion, and more. They also find a distinctive whiskey brand called 4 Jokers, known for its high price and exclusive availability through licensed dealers in Krozpont. They take a few bottles to learn more about its origins.

After questioning a few bartenders, they discover 4 Jokers whiskey sells for 200 gold pieces per bottle and is often transported by private security, occasionally staffed by Booga Brothers members.

Later that evening, the group attends a small fight promotion called Low Punch, where Graardor and Joe sign up for matches. Both win, earning invitations to fight again. Meanwhile, Bear and Kal continue their investigation and encounter a flamboyant man adorned in jewelry, holding a bottle of 4 Jokers. He seems to hold sway over its distribution, boasting that he ensures a bottle is always present at these fight nights.

Kal, using his illusionist skills, sneaks into a backstage bathroom and witnesses an illegal narcotics transaction. However, Bear, wanting direct evidence of the Booga Brothers’ criminal activities for his own reasons, decides to scout around the trap house for further clues on his own.

September 17th

The party spends 10 days scouting and acquiring information. Kal hypnotizes other teamsters to see if they are transporting the whiskey, while Bear scouts out their warehouse. Graardor spends his 10 days gathering water and “purifying” it. After the 10 days are up, the party decides to infiltrate the warehouse.

The warehouse is a simple ale storehouse with a few Booga guards—nothing the party couldn’t handle. They break in, neutralize the guards, and steal some whiskey of their own before more brothers arrive.

The party’s goal is to sell this whiskey on the black market in and around Backwash. Robbing robbers is a cold game, and rumor has it that Mr. Gibbs is not happy. They have certainly made some new enemies.
